DE Underwriter / Underwriter

BluFi Lending has a career opportunity for an experienced DE Underwriter!

We are a growing Mortgage company in Carlsbad, CA. As a Direct Lender, we are looking to expand and add more positive people to our existing team!

Responsibilities Include:
-Review credit, income and appraisal documentation. Re-compute calculations, as required, to verify accuracy
-make appropriate loan decisions based on current guidelines with minimal supervision
-Offer alternatives for re-working loans to issue counter offers vs. declines
-Communicate decisions promptly and professionally
-Assist sales and processing team members with scenario questions
-Review investor guidelines and memos on a regular basis
-Assist with post-closing processing
-Remain responsive to customer needs
-Maintain an open mind and positive attitude

Requirements:
-2-4+ years underwriting experience with all types of loans
-DE Certified for a minimum of two years current relevant experience (CHUMS)
-Must have strong FHA/VA underwriting experience
-Conventional loan underwriting experience
-DU/LP/AUS proficient (Encompass preferred)
-Proficient in paperless underwriting
-Familiar with private mortgage insurance guidelines
-Ability to make independent decisions
-Must have purchase loan experience
-Professional and concise verbal and written communication
-Strong time management skills


Education:
- High School Education or equivalent/College degree preferred.
